Groundbreaking event at A Winning Smile Dental
PL Lyons has recently broke ground on a new commercial construction project for A Winning Smile Dental Center. The process actually started about a year ago, but we were challenged somewhat with different zoning regulations and stipulations.
We’ve worked hard to get everything squared away and we now officially have the building permits in hand. The pictures and video below show the initial demolition that took place as well as where the actual new addition will stand.
Stay tuned as we document the progress of this job up to its finishing stages. We look forward to working with Dr. Witte as he expands his practice to better serve his patients.

Completed sun room in Winchester Acres
A few weeks ago we shared three videos of a deck enclosure in Winchester Acres in east Louisville.
The project is now complete so I wanted to show everyone how well the sun room turned out. This customer was actually a repeat client. We finished the deck for them a while back and they called us again to complete the sun room. Check out the gallery on my Flickr page and please contact me if you are looking to complete a similar project.

The 2011 Home Show has come and gone—our recap
Here’s how the Home and Garden Show fared in our eyes.
On Friday and Saturday there were a steady flow of people just out looking for education and information. Of course, just like at any trade show, there were the usual “stuff grabbers.” You know the ones, equipped with two bags and looking for any widgets they can score. Most seemed to stop at our booth and take a DVD or a brochure. Some asked questions. Most of the interest we saw on Friday and Saturday was around remodeling or home improvements.
The show was not quite as large as years past which makes sense given the state of the economy. There were plenty of TVs to watch the NCAA games, and the same good fairgrounds food. The show is always a great opportunity to connect with friends in our industry, see our subcontractors in a more informal way, and get a pulse on the market.
Sunday after about 3:00 the traffic at our booth really picked up. Sunday from 3:00-5:00 was the best time (after the ball games but before the selection show). During that window alone we had four quality leads.
First were a couple of good remodel leads, then a custom home lead, plus four appointments.
We also had a handful of people sign up to receive our monthly email newsletter.
Overall, I would consider it a successful show! By the way, check out the Home and Garden Show’s website to search for information you may have missed.
Exterior Remodeling project in Douglas Hills
In this weeks video, Perry Lyons walks us through a job P.L. Lyons Inc is getting ready to begin. The project is in the Douglas Hills subdivision, near Middletown in Louisville KY. P.L. Lyons Custom Building and Remodeling has done quite a few custom projects in the Douglas Hills area over the last 5-6 years. Perry built many of the homes in this area early in his custom building years. Some of the recent projects have been additions, others were kitchen remodels, while some involved the complete reworking of floor plans. This particular project is an exterior remodel. It involves some work on the front elevation for both enhanced curb appeal and more importantly to correct some drainage issues.
If you have a remodeling project in Douglas Hills give us call or contact us through our online form. We’d love to come out and discuss your unique project. We’ve worked for a lot of your neighbors and they’ve been happy with the results. If you’d like to speak to them we can probably arrange that as well. Along with Douglas Hills we’ve done a lot of work in Eastern Jefferson county subdivisions like Owl Creek, Plainview, Foxgate, Anchorage, Forest Springs and Lake Forest just to name a few.
